Erin's Law
Dear Parents and Guardians,
In January 2013, the State of Illinois adopted Erin’s Law. This law is a state-mandated, age-appropriate sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention education program for students in Pre-K through 12th grade.
Erin’s Law requires that public schools teach children to recognize child sexual abuse, equip them with skills to reduce their vulnerability, and encourage them to report the abuse.
Minooka CCSD 201 will be providing a developmentally appropriate educational program for our K-8th grade students. For more information about the program please see resources on this page.
Minooka Preschool will be conducting age-appropriate lessons to teach students to distinguish between safe and unsafe touches, define the term private parts, identifying trusted adults who can help in situations involving personal safety, and what to do when someone tries to touch you in a way you don’t think is right.
For questions concerning Erin’s Law please contact your building administration.
Kind regards,
Dr. Tiffany Staab
Assistant Superintendent
